DISTRICT HOME

WELCOME!

Welcome to the Gilman School District, home of the Gilman Pirates! The Gilman School District serves rural, residential, and farm communities across the Taylor, Rusk, Chippewa, and Clark County area. Our entire district is under one roof, located at 325 North Fifth Avenue in Gilman, Wisconsin. The Gilman School serves about 300 students in grades 4K – 12. Gilman is a progressive district with traditional values. We strive to keep our classrooms student centered, rigorous, and fun! Our staff is adaptive, hard-working, and willing to go the extra mile for our students, parents, and community.

THREE SCHOOLS UNDER ONE ROOF

Although we are under one roof, we operate as an elementary (4K-5), middle (6-8), and high (9-12) school. Our elementary prides itself on offering small class sizes, a dynamic teaching staff, with a robust response to intervention (RtI) system that strives to serve the needs of all children. The middle school functions as a team of dedicated teachers who look to serve the “whole child” during one of the most challenging life transitions in life. Our high school students are served by a team of highly qualified teachers who are able to bring large school class choices to our small school.

LOTS TO DO!

Students who go to Gilman are able to participate in a variety of sports and activities, while being supported academically. We have many students who are able to maintain good grades, while playing three sports and a musical instrument. Some of them even have jobs, as well! To aid in our students busy after-school lives, the district implemented an intervention block that allows students to complete homework and get the help they need if they are falling behind. This allows our student body to dedicate their after school hours to sports, activities, religious affiliations, and time with family.

COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL BOARD SUPPORT

The Gilman School District is supported by a community that takes pride in our school. We have a very active parent network and school board who understand the importance of a quality education. Our school board adopted a set of goals that emphasizes that student safety is a vital foundation, that supports retaining and developing our teachers, improving communication, and being fiscally responsible for our taxpayers; all of which drives and supports our passion for increasing student achievement. These goals are held together by our school district vision which states: “Where Student Achievement Comes First”.
