Head Start is coming back to Gilman!
Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that serves children from low-income families, ages 3-5, including children with disabilities. However, over-income families may be eligible for the program depending upon other needs within the family.
Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities designed to foster learning, and social/emotional and physical development. The classrooms are equipped for "hands on" learning and teachers follow an age appropriate curriculum. Nutrition and health are also an important part of the Head Start experience.
Head Start offers your child an opportunity to develop social, physical, and readiness skills necessary for a successful kindergarten experience. Nutrition, health and safety activities are also included in the daily curriculum resulting in children enjoying healthy meals as well as being aware of their personal health and safety.
For questions about Head Start to set up an appointment to fill out an application for your child please contact Lauren Zach at 715-532-4222 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are dropping your child off at school in the morning or picking up your child at night we are asking that you park on 5th Ave. in front of the school and use door #1. The north side of the school is the bus zone for loading and unloading buses. Door #1 will be open at 7:45. Students will not be allowed to go to their classrooms until 7:55. We are asking that the students stay in the hallway by the office until 7:55. After school if you are picking up your child we ask that you stay in the hallway by the office (you do not have to stop in the office) and the teachers will bring your child to you.
***WE NOW HAVE A NEW SECURITY SYSTEM FOR THE SCHOOL YOU WILL NEED TO RING TO BE LET INTO THE BUILDING. IT IS LOCATED ON THE TOP OF THE HANDICAP BUTTON AT DOOR #1
